Slater and Spider
Slaters are a main feature of the Room N this year. But few people know about the Slater Spider. Room N is making their own slater spider and its prey (slater). Since all the members of Room N like mess, slime, slop and all the other good fun stuff, we are using paper mâché to make the giant spider.
We have a wire base to start with and have added the first layer. We enjoyed the sloppy slime so much it has taken a week to dry.
Next is the second layer of paper and tidying up all the hairy edges.

100
Room N's Mercury maths group worked hard today putting cards in order to 100. They had to think about the numbers on the card along with the numbers before and after. It took a while but they got there. They have found out that the set is missing the number 22. They are going to have to look for it in another pack.
Proud to be an Envirokid
Liam has spent a lot of time and used his imagination and artistic skills to create an interesting cover for his Envirobook. Liam loves to share with our class what he has been doing at Envirokids.

Room O Class Enviro Job
Our class Enviro Job is to look after the budgie aviary. Fynn and Luke have been trained how to do the job. They do the job 3 days a week at lunchtimes. They are training everyone in Room O to do the job.

Bridge building
We have to build a bridge to span the 40cm gap between two desks. All we have is a pile of Lego. We have had to discuss our ideas and decide on a design. The winner will be the bridge that can hold the most dictionaries while spanning the gap.

We do this by putting a marble in the jar for doing amazing work, working together well, showing all of the Care Code qualities, taking risks and being responsible for our own learning. Last week we had our first marble treat. A big thank you to Zoe and Kodah for taking the photos and producing these pic collage pages on our i-pad

We are very lucky to get milk each day at school. Milk is great for our health. Thank you to Fonterra for providing free milk to all Year 1-6 students in New Zealand. We all know how to fold up our milk cartons ready for recycling.
