Daily Five

Every day we do Daily Five for Reading. Read to Self is one of the 5 rotations. We choose a good fit book and read for as long as we can. We are building our reading stamina.

Big Ted Visits Room O

Big Ted came to stay for a whole week after we won 'the class with the most choice tokens'. Making good choices pays off because we got to use all the fun gear in Big Ted's box.

Middle Team Swimming

We have been swimming every afternoon. It's fantastic to see so many Middle Teamers having fun,trying so hard and making good progress with their swimming. Swimming Sports take place on Wednesday.

Rm M Librarians

We are proud to introduce our librarians for 2016.

Nathanael, Seanna & Regan.

It is a big responsibility to be a class librarian. They help our class issue & return books. Plus they get special training from Mrs Bennitt. 

Our four legged visitor!

We were super lucky this morning in Room M because Poppy and Rose bought their dog Comet in for a visit.

Rose and Poppy shared some interesting and fully facts about their dog.

We learnt that Comet it a girl dog who is two years old.

She came from the Feilding SPCA and her favourite thing to do is dig holes and play fetch.

We learnt that she loves to lick and eats 6 doggy biscuits for breakfast.

Poppy loves having a dog because she is cute.

Rose loves having a dog because she eats up all the scraps.

Rose and Poppy's dad Carl told us all about how to look after and exercise Comet. We also learnt how to pat and approach a strange dog. We then got to practice by giving Comet a pat and belly rub. 

She left wet doggy hair all over our floor!!!

We loved our four legged visitor and we learnt so much about caring for a dog.

Thank you Poppy, Rose and Carl for bringing Comet in to meet us.

New pets

Room N has some new pets.  Living in the art cave are some native bats and cave wetas.  We hope that they don't bite much.  

 

The class has been working hard on creating some beautiful art.   It took a lot of concentration to get the colours in the right place.  We were learning to colour in the whole circle.   

We were successful 

if each dot was 

coloured in and we 

couldn't see any white patches.

 We also learnt that if we coloured in two directions it would help remove any colouring lines within the circle.

                                                 

The finished pieces are amazing.

Welcome to Mighty Room M

Hi, we are Room M. We are a class full of fabulous learners. We have been busy this week. Here are some pictures to show you what we have been doing.

Our class rules, we brainstormed all the ways we can stay safe and happy in our classroom.

We created a puzzle piece to reflect us. We know we are an important part of Room M!

We are studying Dr Seuss for our writing topic. We love his rhyming!

We created a Super Sock based on the Dr Seuss book Fox in Socks.
